Frequently Asked Questions
How do I connect my agent to WhatsApp?
You need a WhatsApp Business account and a verified phone number. Configure the phone number ID, business account ID, and webhook verify token in your Interlocute surface settings. The platform routes incoming WhatsApp messages to your node. This surface is coming soon — sign up to be notified.
Can the agent send images or voice notes?
Initially the surface supports text messages. Rich media (images, documents, voice notes) is on the roadmap and will be supported once the surface exits placeholder status.
Is this different from the Telegram surface?
Yes. WhatsApp uses the Meta Business API, which requires a verified business account and phone number. Telegram uses a simpler bot token model. Both surfaces route messages to your Interlocute node in the same way.
How is usage billed?
Identically to all other surfaces: a platform premium on LLM tokens plus computation charges. Note that Meta may charge separately for WhatsApp Business API message delivery — those costs are outside the Interlocute billing scope.
